Would You Like to Have Dinner with Me?
Tonight, *Gallant and I are going on a date. Yes, a date date. Because we have not done so in a while.
It involves dressing up -- with eyelash curlers and pantyhose, plus his good shoes and a store bought masculine scent.
It also involves flowers, prolly champagne and feeding off each other's forks from dainty French courses (We're going to La Papillon, btw).
Yes, it is sweetly sick enough to make you hurl *grin* but all necessary for courtship and to keep one's relationship fresh, alive and exciting.

Saigon!
Hi guys,
I'm at work but I thought I would sneak in a couple of words. Been looking for a place to stay during the Saigon trip. Something about Madam Cuc's Hostel is inviting and has this "must go" sense about it. And if it was good enough for Michael Caine...
Yes, I do know it is now Ho Chi Minh, but I really prefer calling it Saigon. I will be going there this mid December for a 5 day holiday with Jules and Fongky.
In any case, I think I can stay anywhere as long as someone gets me to a holiday ASAP.
I'm also reviewing a web application for work. Have submitted my report (no go for a company endorsement) but as a freeware, I don't mind personally endorsing it to you today. Hopefully, some karma points will be redeemed when you go visit www.hyperwords.net.
Its a cool tool where with a click of your right mouse over your choice of any highlighted words, you can get Google, Dictionary, Flickr, Facebook, convert money, translate words and more. Pity that it is only limited to Firefox and it can clutter up your right click if you're too lazy (like me) to go customize what you want.
And finally, look at this very nice "rainbow maker". Would love to get one for myself, but the wall to ceiling windows in my office is too far away. You could make a great Christmas gift out of this one.
Hmmm. I wonder if I can send hyperwords to friends as a Christmas gift?
Over and out.

twelve years
twelve years
Things are going to get a lot more interesting soon. The boss has decided to work on a book of legacy called "twelve years" for publication -- a collection of speeches, ideas and hopes.
For those of you who know of my retirement plans to write biographies, please join me in an indulgent *yippie*.

Daulat Tuanku!
Daulat Tuanku
Firstly, I thought it was rather amusing that the Noble Prize website has a games link. For me, it wasn't exactly the most suitable, but I guess it is one way to capture the attention of the young with such interactivity.
Nonetheless, what I came across today is really something. Can someone please draw the line at games at Malaysia's monarchy website?

Beowulf
Beowulf
I'm unabashed about my love for *tasteful gore and glory. 300 was a fantastic movie, I'm starting to play Hellgate, and LH and I watched Beowulf last weekend. What I detest, of course, is *distasteful gore -- like horror flicks (don't go into the basement!).
Don't know why this movie in particular. Maybe because I gave the Polar Express a miss (similar animation style). Maybe Neil Gaimon and his take on this epic poem. Maybe it was because I stumbled across so many reviews.
The strangest thing is that the reviews were all BAD, or at least mediocre, and I still wanted to go. I guess it helped lower expectations for me and I fairly enjoyed it. I can't tell whether to say "see it" or "forget it", but maybe this review would help. Spoilers are involved, but hey, it is a story that has been told before so do you really need to hide from who dies when?
I'm just amused at the moment about how the Singapore audience, like the European audience went "huh" at the old-English parts (as spoken by Grendel). Totally incomprehensible! I guess what helped was LH translating with the Chinese subtitles.

Did you Miss Thanksgiving Dinner?
Here's a drool-worthy slide show from the New York Times online with 17 mouth watering pictures of thanksgiving feast. Recipes are included too.
Jules -- would this tempt us into having a Christmas dinner for friends soon?

post SOUA
Today, Channelnewsasia.com reports on its "Asia Pacific" website news about China -- Recycling condoms as cheap hair bands.
"People could be infected with AIDS, (genital) warts or other diseases if they hold the rubber bands or strings in their mouths while waving their hair into plaits or buns," the paper quoted a local dermatologist who gave only his surname, Dong, as saying.
Really makes you wonder where it is they get these used condoms and what kind of business plan went through to approve this sort of idea.
.::.
Have just finished SOUA 07. A mad rush of writing, powerpoint, and massive re-editing for four days. But the rush and hard work was, in a way, good for me -- I've enjoyed the great teamwork, knowledge gained, and adrenaline rush.
But before I could even get some proper sleep, more work crops up. Sigh... updates coming soon.
